Lucky is the man who makes a living doing what they love most.
And I'm the luckiest guy in the world !
15 years ago I discovered CGI (computer generated imagery) and it was love at first sight. This brand new field was a perfect fit for me. When I was growing up, all my relatives, friends, teachers and neighbors thought I'd become a painter. Since young age I've also been a "science junkie", having an almost indiscriminate interest in all sorts of things from human brain to space and of course computers. And now there was this occupation where all of that could come handy. Not only could I create images but I could make them move, and not only could I make them move ...I could build a whole world ... Being able to make my craziest ideas and visions come alive on my monitor is very, very addictive ... the only drug I need :)~
I feel like a modern day Marco Polo, seeing and experiencing things that nobody has ever seen.

I work as a freelancer in Los Angeles. I'm a rare creature in that I do both 3D animation and compositing. I model, animate, light and then hand the elements to a compositor or composite them myself. And out of necessity I've ended up being a part time special effects supervisor too. I create original synthetic images with my computer and then place them in real or computer generated environments. I break up images and recombine them in completely new ways. Reflections from a school of fish may become glittering confetti, day can be turn to night, animals can talk and people can walk on water. Pictures are truly putty to be molded to whatever strikes my fancy.

On hind sight, one of the best decisions I made, was to work for small and medium size companies. The big ones are wonderful in many ways (they get the high profile movies), but for them it makes sense to have people specialize in one aspect of production. People model or they animate, they light or they composite. In smaller companies one has to do it all. And since there projects

are often smaller in scale, one gets to do a greater variety of them. A great way to hone one's craft. Some say that you can't be good at everything. That surely is true but I do believe that you can be good at many things. And in CGI knowing animation actually makes you a better modeler, knowing compositing makes you better at lighting. Having understanding of it all helps you decide the best strategies for each project, to custom make a solution for each problem and to recognize potential problems. If I had to pick the one area that I enjoy the most, it'd have to be lighting. That is the process of turning the computer generated grid work of geometry to a painting. With different textures, materials, lights and cameras the same scene can be drab, photo real or fantasy.

I've been employed by some of the best effects companies and post houses in LA and I've owned one of my own. I've done commercials for Intel and IBM, Miller and Budweiser, Verizon and Sprint, Kraft and McDonald, Sparkletts and Perrier, Visa and just about every car. I've done animation for Paramount, Warner Brothers, New Line, Dreamworks and of course Disney. I've done graphics, animation and show opens for CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX, from Super bowl to judge Judy, from CBS Evening News to Home Improvement. Hundreds of projects in all. I've won a few awards on the way but the best part has been getting to know some of the funnest creative people on earth.

Thank You for taking the time to check out my site.
If you have a project you'd like me to take a look at, call me or e-mail me.
Old friends and people I've worked with,
I'd love to hear from you.
